This very special pantomime is written by comedy and drama writer Jonathan Harvey and directed by award-winning director Cal McCrystal, known and loved as the nation’s funniest director. It stars three of the UK’s best-loved celebs. Sir Ian McKellen is an actor whose glittering career spans seven decades. He’s done everything from Shakespearean and modern theatre to fantasy and science fiction. A British cultural icon, he has won seven Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, and a Golden Globe Award. John Bishop is a comedian, presenter, actor and former footballer. His comedy has seen him touring the UK to great acclaim. Mel Giedroyc is an actress, comedian and television presenter. She has co-hosted lots of TV series including Light Lunch, The Great British Bake Off for the BBC, the chat show Mel and Sue, and the BBC show Let It Shine.
The rest of the cast includes Oscar Conlon-Morrey, who plays Jack, and Simbi Akande as Jill. There’s Sharon Ballard as Evil Fairy Malignia and Karen Mavundukure as Good Fairy Encanta, plus Adam Brown, Gabriel Fleary, Richard Leeming and Genevieve Nicole. More cast members will be announced before long. We predict theatre tickets for Mother Goose will sell fast, so grab yours while you can and add extra layer of feathery fun to your festive celebrations.
