Picture this. Your life is a wreck. Your husband has thrown you out of the house and you're living with an acquaintance. You're struggling with alcohol, can't stop drinking, and you're about to lose your job too. Then you see a couple of gorgeous, happy people sunning themselves on their trackside balcony and you truly understand how terrible your life has become. It's no surprise you become obsessed with the couple, which is exactly what Rachel Walker does. But when the object of her obsession, the women Rachel has named 'Jess' in her imagination, disappears, things start to get really weird. Welcome to The Girl on the Train.
The book has, so far, sold more than 20 million copies and been translated into at least 40 languages. The cast comprises Samantha Womack as Rachel Watson, Adam Jackson Smith as Tom Watson, John Dougall as the detective and Kirsty Oswald as Megan Hipwell. The excellent Naeem Hayat plays Kamal Abdic. Direction is by Anthony Banks and the Designer is James Cotterill. Lighting Design comes from Jack Knowles and Composition & Sound Design from Ben & Max Ringham. The list goes on, an awesome collection of people who are all very, very good at what they do. The result is a mystery that'll have you on the edge of your seat whether or not you already know what happens. Superb!
