Imagine this. You're in your 20s and travelling on the adventure of a lifetime with a great friend. You feel immortal, and you're determined to be the first people ever to climb the dizzying and horribly dangerous Siula Grande mountain in the remote Peruvian Andes. You manage it, and you're thrilled. But when you begin the descent, things start to go horribly wrong. First one of you falls and breaks a leg, and the other has to try to get you down the mountain using ropes. Then a massive storm brews and you're stuck... will your mate cut the rope and potentially let you die, or is there another way out of this deadly situation?
This is a true story based on the best-selling book by Joe Simpson. The cast includes Fiona Hampton as Sarah, Edward Hayter as Simon, Patrick McNamee as Richard and Josh Williams as Joe. It's on at the Duke of York's theatre from autumn 2019, and it's ideal if you're aged 15 or more, packed with bad language and rich in details of injury and death. The creative team includes a host of well-respected experts like Designer Ti Green, Lighting Designer Chris Davey, the Composer & Sound Designer Jon Nicholls, the Movement Director Sasha Milavic Davies, and the Casting and Assistant Director Evan Lordan. And it's set to entertain you in a highly unusual way. Fantastic!
